Seeing questions differently


Jumping through the hoops - that's an idiom I explain to all of my Year 12 students.  No one relishes the chance to do exactly what they're told, but at least with Inference 2.9 the benefits far outweigh the cost.  Give the assessors exactly what they're looking for, and funnily enough you'll get full marks.

Here's an example of a correctly formed Inference question.  Students may know the elements in theory, but I believe it helps to see it in full colour.


Yes, it's repetitive.  Yes, students have to write several lines to get it correct.  But there's also a Yes, you've nailed it, when all the parts are there, which is super satisfying.
